With gravity defying acrobatics, dazzling specialty acts and glittering costumes, Cirquetacular is coming to BYU-Idaho for the first time.
In their latest tour, Shimmer: a Winter Cirque Reverie, the Cirquetacular circus troupe is bringing whimsical acts like a bendy ballerina and an aerial snow show. The performance will be themed around ice and snow.
“We promise to keep it warm and exciting, even though the theme is all things wintertime,” said Cirquetacular founder Tad Emptage. “It is a show that is exciting and thrilling for all ages. It's all visual themed entertainment, as well as there are some talking acts, things that everyone can simultaneously enjoy.”
The show uses elements like costumes, music, set designs and lighting to add to the theatrical and winter experience.
“You’re literally seeing something in the real moment that is unique for the people that will be there,” Emptage said. “There's no one else that will ever get to see that exact version of the show, because you can't recreate the audience, you can't recreate the venue, you can't recreate the lighting, you can't recreate the energy in the room.”
The performance is this Friday at 7:30 p.m. In the Hart Auditorium on campus.
“There are going to be lots of wow moments by world record holders, grand champions and unique world acts. So, if people do get the chance to come, they're in for a treat,” Emptage said.
