After captivating the audience with inspiring music, the musical father and daughter duo Mat and Savanna Shaw are returning to Rexburg for a concert at BYU-Idaho.

First performing at BYU-Idaho in 2022, the duo had a memorable experience and will showcase their uplifting and soothing music with the BYU-Idaho crowd again.

“The first time we came, we really didn't know what to expect and as I look back, I think that's one of my favorite shows,” Mat Shaw said. “The audience was so fun. The energy was awesome, and when we found out that we get to come back, we were so excited.”

The duo first discovered fame in 2020, after becoming overnight sensations from a YouTube video meant for just friends and family. Their video performing “The Prayer” has over 10 million views.

Over the five years since their first video, the pair has released 7 albums, all landing in the top 10 on iTunes and Amazon charts and hitting number one on the Billboard charts worldwide. They have performed all over the world, with artists like Jim Brickman, The Piano Guys and Dan Reynolds from Imagine Dragons. They’ve chosen to debut the performance of a new song at BYU-Idaho.

“We're singing one song that’s older for us. We recorded it in 2020, but I don't think we've ever performed live,” Savanna Shaw said. “We’re really excited for this song. People will definitely know it. People might sing along.”

The concert is Friday at 7:30 p.m. In the Hart Auditorium on campus. Tickets start at $10, and you can find them at tickets.byui.edu.

“We're just really excited to get to connect with some people that listen to our music in Idaho,” Savanna Shaw said. “This is going to be so much fun. I think it's our favorite part of the job for sure, and we hope to see everyone there.”
