A common goal among BYU-Idaho students is not only to gain an education, but also to find the means to pay for that education. The Financial Aid Office offers a number of services to help students accomplish that very goal.

Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. the Financial Aid Office invites students to attend a live question-and-answer session to learn more about the services available to BYU-Idaho students.

“Seems like … a lot of students are afraid, or they make mistakes in the financial aid world, or they don’t want to approach it, or they put it off to the last minute … our goal is to … let them know who we are, and that financial aid can be easy. We are here to help,” said Ken Jackson, the director of Financial Aid at BYU-Idaho.

Jackson explains that the highly skilled and seasoned counselors at the Financial Aid Office are ready to help students.

At the Q-and-A session those counselors will be available to help students get started wherever they are in the process. Jackson invites students to bring their laptops, their applications for the 2024-2025 FAFSA and the 2024-2025 BYU-Idaho Scholarship along with their questions.

Jackson says the session is meant to be instructive and exciting.

“So we’re going to have fun. We’re going to have a spinning wheel. We’re going to have some drawings you can win some items,” Jackson says.

Students who bring their completed applications for the 2024-2025 FAFSA and the 2024-2025 BYU-Idaho Scholarship will be entered to potentially win a $500 scholarship.

The forum hour event will be held in the Special Events Room in the Manwaring Center room 387. However, Jackson invites anyone who cannot make it to the session to visit the Financial Aid Office in Kimball 196 anytime to get your questions answered, as well as check your email for helpful financial aid information.
