BYU-Idaho’s inauguration event for Alvin F. Meredith III is Tuesday and BYU-Idaho Radio will be there to capture the festivities.
President Meredith is the 18th president of BYU-Idaho. He and his family, including his wife, Jennifer, first came to BYU-Idaho in February as devotional speakers. Just months later, they were announced as the new president and first lady of BYU-Idaho. President Meredith officially began on Aug. 1.
The inauguration ceremony begins at 11:30 a.m. in the BYU-Idaho Center. The doors will open at 10:30 a.m. and you should be in your seats by 11:15 a.m. Those who are unable to attend in person can watch the live stream or listen to audio of the event on BYU-Idaho Radio.
Sunday dress is recommended for the event.

During the inauguration, you’ll hear from Elders Ronald A. Rasband and D. Todd Christofferson of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, as well as President Meredith. Elder Clark G. Gilbert, a General Authority Seventy and the commissioner for the Church Educational System, will conduct. Elder Rasband will give introductory remarks and Elder Christofferson will give the installing and charge to President Meredith.
Eric d’Evegnée will give the Faculty Association welcome, Kate Timmerman will give the Student Representative welcome and Amy LaBaugh will give the Alumni Association welcome during the ceremony.
If you are driving to the ceremony, you can park on South Center Street (between the Rigby and Taylor Buildings), the Taylor Lot. The South I-Center Lot will be reserved for guests with handicaps, other limitations or by invitation. Other parking will be available in the 7th South Lot and the 7th and 1st Stake parking lots west of the temple.
There will be a public reception in the South Crossroads from 3 – 5 p.m. where employees and students can greet the Merediths. Refreshments will be served.
