From the American Idol stage, to the BYU-Idaho stage, finalists from season 22 of American Idol McKenna Faith Breinholt and Kabrienne Richins are coming to BYU-Idaho for a concert this weekend.
Breinholt and Richins are known for their unique styles of pop with Breinholt singing a mix of pop and country and Richins mixing pop with soul. They both bring emotional energy to the stage and were once competitors, but Richins is happy to come together to perform in their first headline concert as a duo.
“We decided on quite a few songs together actually,” Richins said. “We are best friends, and we love singing together and there's just something magic when our voices come together. We've performed a couple of times together, but never this many songs and this long of a show.”
The duo will bring a mix of fun songs and intimate ones singing covers, originals, duets and worship songs.
“I recently started writing last year and so I am just really excited to be able to just perform them for people,” Richins said. “I really just want to, touch and inspire people and also make people feel less alone and that's always been my biggest goal in my music is to make people feel less alone in their experiences.”
The concert is Friday in the Hart Auditorium on campus at 7:30 p.m.
“I can't wait and I'm so excited,” Richins said. “Bring all your friends because it's going to be, a show filled with super fun moments, super intimate moments. I think it's just the perfect thing for college students and for you and your friends to come out to.”
Tickets start at $15 and you can find them at tickets.byui.edu. For BYU-Idaho radio I’m Ella Zeigler.
