Cathryn Farr recently published her first book titled “The Last Mile is Always Three.” The book is a memoir that shares the story of women in a hiking group, aged 40 to 80, who have hiked together for over the past three decades. Through their hiking, they have bonded and learned to support one another through life’s tough trails.
“It’s camaraderie, when I moved to this town, I hadn't lived here before,” Farr said. “And to be able to get in with a group of women who were so strong in the gospel, we discuss gospel topics on the trail all the time, we encourage each other's testimonies, we encourage each other in our trials and in the traumas that are going on in our lives, and to have women who love each other and will support each other is irreplaceable.”
In her book, Farr shares lessons she has learned from the other women in her hiking group.
“None of us get by in life unscathed,” Farr said. “You know, we are amazed with each other that we all have to endure hard things. It does make it easier to do hard things when you have someone else right behind you on the trail, right ahead of you on the trail.”
