SALT LAKE CITY—The April 2026 general conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints started this morning with messages of faith and renewed commitment to Jesus Christ to a global audience.

The Saturday morning session started with a solemn assembly to sustain Dallin H. Oaks as President of the Church. The sacred assembly unified members worldwide and signaled the beginning of a new chapter of leadership.

Throughout the conference, speakers repeatedly testified of Jesus Christ as the foundation of faith and the head of the Church. President Oaks taught that Jesus Christ leads His Church, inviting members to center their lives more fully on Him. Leaders also encouraged individuals to strengthen that relationship through daily prayer, scripture study and intentional discipleship.

Service and ministering to others were themes throughout the conference. Sister Kristin M. Yee, Second Counselor in the General Relief Society Presidency, said that members can become more Christ-like through the practice.

“If you want to feel grounded, gain a sense of divine belonging, and make a real difference in the world. I invite you to follow the Savior and minister in His name,” Sister Yee said.

Leaders also addressed the challenges of remaining faithful in a complex and uncertain world. Elder David A. Bednar, a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, encouraged members to continue to endure as they develop the virtue of charity.

As the Saturday sessions concluded, Church leaders encouraged members to reflect on the messages shared and apply them in daily life. With tomorrow’s sessions still ahead, attendees and viewers worldwide can look forward to additional teachings, inspired counsel and uplifting messages that will continue to strengthen faith, encourage service and foster a sense of belonging in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
