The grand opening Al’s Sporting Goods in Idaho Falls is this weekend, Thursday through Saturday.
Al’s Sporting Goods started in Logan, Utah and has been open for 99 years. Al’s Sporting Goods sells everything from fishing gear to casual day clothes. The store also carry name brand items.
“Al’s Sporting Goods isn’t your typical sporting goods store. Our motto is every sport, every season, which means, we’ve got something for everyone, so you can come in and bring the whole family,” said Lindee Stone, the marketing manager for Al’s Sporting Goods.?
Stone has been working on the opening of the Idaho Falls location for a while now. This is the third location of Al’s Sporting Goods. It has two other Utah locations, based in Logan and Orem.
Idaho Falls was hand-picked for its first out of state location. Idaho Falls was chosen because of its similarity to Logan.
“Idaho Falls is a lot like?Logan, we felt like the community up here is very similar to the community in Logan… We felt like Al’s Sporting Goods would be a great fit for this type of community, where it’s a family owned business and they like to focus a lot on catering to the family,” Stone said.
The grand opening of Al’s Sporting Goods in Idaho Falls is Oct. 1- Oct. 3, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The grand opening will have major sales throughout the store, lots of doorbuster sales and prizes.
The store is in the old Toys R Us building in Idaho Falls at 2395 E 17th St. More information about the grand opening can be found on the Facebook page or als.com.
