A Madison School District teacher has returned from a trip of a lifetime to Antarctica. Sharee Barton is a coordinator for the district and taught in the middle school in the Alternative Instructional Model or AIM program.

A BYU-Idaho student has started a free ESL class to help anyone who wants to learn English and have the necessary tools to make that a reality. A couple of years ago BYU-Idaho German professor, Brian McDermott had an ESL class for the community of Rexburg, but when he left Idaho the class ended.

Kristen Sanger was six years old when she rescued her first kitten. Now, she is the Executive Director for the Snake River Animal Shelter located in Idaho Falls. Sanger says that her desire to help animals was always natural.

Extreme Huntress Competition is a competition for female hunters. Its goal is to give positive role models for women and children. Last year, the competition celebrated its 10th year with a special competition named Ultimate Extreme Huntress Competition. It was only for previous winners of the Extreme Huntress Competition. Competitors had the chance to travel to Zimbabwe and hunt with professional hunters. The winner was announced Jan. 10, and it was a local hunter from Weston, Idaho, Lindsay Christensen who won.

The Art Museum of Eastern Idaho hosted a presentation today about Teater’s Knoll, the only Frank Lloyd Wright designed building in Idaho. The event Teater’s Knoll: A Studio Retreat was a presentation about Archie Boyd Teater and his wife, Patricia Teater’s retreat.
