Musical Arts - String (B.M.A.)

In the Music Arts degrees, you choose one instrument and an area of classes to study. Learning this instrument is the bulk of these degrees. They also include the required general music classes and ensembles.

If you love playing a stringed instrument, you may want to pursue your instrument through BYU-Idaho. The university offers two string majors: Music: String Performance (B.M.) and Musical Arts: String (B.M.A.). At first glance, they may seem the same. They both involve music theory, private lessons, and ensembles. However, there is a difference between the degrees. It is important to carefully consider which degree to pursue that will best fit your goals after graduation.
