Geology vs. Environmental Geoscience: What's the Difference?

The Earth is a massive puzzle, but there isn’t one way to solve it. Earth science looks into the past, present, and future of the planet. By studying the rocks, water, and air, we ask big questions and solve important problems.

If you love Earth science but aren't sure which major to pick, you’re not alone. While geology and environmental geoscience share the same roots, they lead to two very different missions.

Think of it this way: geology focuses on the history of the Earth, while environmental geoscience focuses on the health of the environment.
