POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a skilled Wireless Technician with tower climbing certifications to join our team (See Qualifications Section). Primarily responsible installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless broadband systems and professionally resolving higher level service and hardware issues directly with customers. Proactively monitors systems and contacts customers to offer assistance with possible service issues.
Maintains overall technological savvy with strong understanding of outdated, present, cutting-edge and perspective technologies and their applicability to the business.
Requires broad knowledge of organization policies, applicable hardware and software applications. Participates in “on call” rotation after hours.
Performs other administrative duties and projects as required by Management.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of wireless broadband systems. This role requires a strong technical background, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional service to our customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, configure, and maintain wireless broadband equipment, including routers, antennas, and access points. 
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal installation locations for equipment. 
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to wireless connectivity, signal strength, and network performance. 

  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on wireless systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability. 
  • Collaborate with the engineering and support teams to implement network enhancements and improvements. 
  • Provide technical support and training to customers regarding wireless equipment and services. 
  • Maintain accurate records of installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. 
  • Adhere to safety protocols and industry regulations during all work activities. 
  • Stay updated on technological advancements and industry trends related to wireless broadband. 

LOCATION: In person, based out of Chubbuck/Pocatello area.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS HIGHLIGHTS (not an all inclusive list):

  • Climbing ladders 
  • Lifting and carrying 35-50 lbs frequently, 50+ lbs occasionally 
  • Working outdoor in all weather conditions 
  • Walking over uneven surfaces 
  • Kneeling, stooping, bending, crawling, twisting 
  • Reaching forward, grasping, push/pull, wrist twisting 
  • Using computer, laptop, tablet and/or cell phone 
  • Neck motion (L/R and Up/Down) 

Requirements/Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Tower Climbing/Fall Protection Certification compliant with NATE Climber Training Standard. 
  • RF Safety Awareness Training Certification 
  • OSHA 10-Hour Training Certification 
  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree or technical certification in electronics, telecommunications, or a related field preferred. 
  • Proven experience as a wireless technician or in a similar technical role with 3+ years experience. 
  • Strong understanding of wireless networking protocols/standards and ethernet cabling standards including the different types of power over ethernet. 
  • Proficient in troubleshooting network issues and using diagnostic tools. 
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed. 
  • Must have and maintain valid Driver’s License with good driving record. 
  • Ability to pass drug screening at any time during employment.

  • 40 hours/week with the ability to flex to 35 hours with prior approval. 
  • May be required to respond to emergency situations after hours. 

  • Requires participation in on-call rotation. 

Pay/Wage

$25 - $28/ hr
