Job Description
We are looking for responsible, enthusiastic, and patient Summer Camp Counselors to lead our diverse groups of campers! In this role, you will work with children ranging from toddlers to 5th graders, ensuring they have a safe, fun, and memorable summer. You will be responsible for supervising campers, facilitating activities, and fostering a positive and inclusive camp environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and ensure the safety of a designated group of campers (toddlers through 5th grade) at all times.
- Lead and participate in daily activities, including arts and crafts, sports, swimming, and team-building games.
- Adapt activities and communication styles to suit the developmental needs of both early childhood campers and older elementary students.
- Assist younger campers (toddlers/Pre-K) with daily routines, including bathroom breaks, handwashing, and transition times.
- Manage group behavior using positive reinforcement and conflict resolution techniques.
- Communicate effectively with camp leadership and parents regarding camper progress, behavior, and daily highlights.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe physical environment.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Must be 18+ with a genuine love for working with kids
- Ability to relate to children of widely varying ages, from 18 months to 11 years old.
- Ability to spend long hours on your feet, outdoors, in the summer heat.
- Flexibility and quick problem-solving skills (because with kids, the plan always changes!).
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts) and background check.
