Senior Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Maintenance Technician to join our Maintenance and Remodel team. This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of residential and commercial properties within our portfolio. The ideal candidate is highly skilled, detail-oriented, and capable of leading maintenance efforts to ensure our properties are safe, efficient, and well-maintained. We are a maintenance and remodel company so there may be some cross over with remodel tasks and responsibilities, but this role's main focus is maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
● Perform and oversee routine, preventative, and emergency maintenance on building systems, units, and common areas.
● Troubleshoot and repair a wide range of systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, appliances, and general building upkeep.
● Supervise and mentor junior maintenance staff, contractors, and vendors as needed.
● Prioritize and manage work orders, ensuring timely completion and quality workmanship.
● Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, inventory, and compliance with safety standards.
● Coordinate with the office staff for maintenance and work order schedules.
● Respond to after-hours emergency maintenance calls as needed.
● Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety regulations, and company standards.
Requirements/Qualifications
● 2+ years of progressive maintenance experience, preferably in property management, multifamily housing, or commercial real estate.
● Advanced knowledge of building systems, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and general construction.
● Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex issues efficiently.
● Leadership experience, including training and supervising maintenance staff.
● Excellent communication and customer service skills when interacting with tenants, owners, and team members.
● Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
● Valid driver’s license with clean driving record and reliable transportation required.
● Relevant certifications (e.g., HVAC, EPA Universal, OSHA, electrical license) strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements
● Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
● Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
