Osaka Expo
Tom Sherry served in the Japan Okinawa Mission from 1969 to 1971. Along with Elder Damian Smith, he acted as assistant to Elder Bernard Brockbank in preparing the Church pavilion for Expo '70 in Osaka, and they continued as zone leaders coordinating missionary work at the pavilion during the first half of the expo. Tom was the main connection between BYU-Idaho and other expo missionaries during the project. Tom donated a pavilion pamphlet and an expo medallion for the display. He also shared journal entries, photographs, and letters included in the current exhibit. He is a retired seminary and institute teacher.
