James Galovan Collection
New York Fair
Jim Galovan served in the Eastern States (New York) Mission as a young missionary during the NY World’s Fair from 1964 to 1965. He served closely with Elder Bernard Brockbank at the Mormon Pavilion. Jim donated a pavilion missionary patch and shared photographs, journal entries, letters, pavilion visitor comments, and other pavilion materials. Jim retired as vice president of human resources for the North American Grocery Divisions for General Mills after working for the company for 34 years. He is a former bishop and presently serves as a counselor in the St. Paul Minnesota Temple Presidency. Jim and his wife Marty are the parents of three married sons, grandparents of eight, and currently reside in Plymouth, Minnesota.
