Jana Richards attended New Mexico Junior College and Brigham Young University-Provo before graduating from the University of Utah with bachelor's degree in English. She continued her graduate studies at Lesley University, earning a master's degree in Education.
Jana served as a junior high school English teacher for several years before transitioning to adult education at Salt Lake Community College and Utah Valley University. She joined the faculty in the English Department at BYU-Idaho in 2020.
