Before becoming an instructor, Bill has 17 years experience working as a Software Engineer for Northrop Grumman and Raytheon. A majority of his experience has been in development and maintenance work following several different Software Development/Engineering Life Cycle (SDLC) Methodologies, assisting in multiple project’s achieving CMM Levels 3-5 certification using ISO 900x, Six Sigma, and Company policies, procedures, and processes to deliver server, client, and stand-alone applications. At Northrop Grumman, he had four years experience being a small projects lead, where he mentored 10-20 individuals in delivering baselines every six months. He has worked on several projects that used a variety of applications & web services as front end interfaces, multi-tier middleware including multi-threaded/multi-process programs, RMI/JMS/SOA architecture, and Pub/Sub & Messaging Queue services, and integration of backend databases design and management. He also has significant application and knowledge of Cybersecurity as a programmer, practitioner and instructor.

Before coming to BYU-Idaho, Bill spent seven years as an adjunct professor for BYU-I, BYU-I Online, Community College of Aurora (CCA) and the Colorado Community College System(CCC Online) for the Computer Science & Computer Information System Departments.

Bill is a proud father of three children and a loving husband.
