Background
Steven grew up mostly in Salem, OR. He worked as a real estate broker after graduating as one of the first classes from BYU-Idaho. After building a successful career in real estate, the market collapsed, and he had the feeling that he needed to move back to Rexburg. A job in medical sales brought him to Twin Falls and then Rigby where he still lives. During this time, he completed his MBA at nights through Idaho State University while also dipping his toe into teaching at Stevens-Henager College and East Idaho College. Steven decided that working in education was much more rewarding than the corporate world and he made the transition to administration by accepting a job in 2014 in Online Learning at BYU-Idaho managing a large student team who maintained all 300+ online courses. He has taken on many roles since that time and currently works in the Research and Evaluation department overseeing the evaluation of BYU-Idaho’s online offerings. Steve is a serial entrepreneur and has attempted several startup businesses. He currently owns a side business with his brother that serves the hunting industry with markets in the US, Pacific Islands, and Australia. He still loves the cold Oregon coast, is a bit of a movie nerd, and all members of his family are blackbelts in TaeKwonDo.
