Bio

Brother Kimpel teaches in the Exercise Science program in the department. Prior to his time at BYU-Idaho his background was in collegiate athletics. His focus has been in performance-related fitness as well as how traditional performance fitness impacts overall health and longevity. He is a big fan of the Wellness Center and the Fitness Center and collaborates with the students who staff those facilities to ensure students in his classes are prepared to serve there.

He is originally from Wisconsin and Colorado.  His undergraduate degree was in English and his graduate work was in Exercise Physiology.  In his free time he enjoys rock climbing, writing, and learning about World War II history.  He and his wife, Julie, have four children.  All of them are boys except for three.
