Biography
Shawn Randall brings over 27 years of experience as a media designer and consultant, working with both startups and Fortune 500 companies. For the past 24 years, he and his wife, Shar-A-Lynn, have operated Studio-208, a media design and consultancy firm. Shawn specializes in creative problem-solving across various mediums and contexts. He eschews labels and the industry's tendency to pigeonhole designers into narrow fields, believing instead in the transformative potential of design.
Shawn has contributed to numerous humanitarian and socially responsible design projects, including initiatives to develop new village concepts for orphans and elders affected by the AIDS pandemic in Kenya. He has collaborated with organizations such as the United Nations and the ArtCenter College of Design's Designmatters program.
Throughout his career, Shawn has worked as an educator, traditional designer, creative director, and principal of his own company. He has named and branded numerous startups and worked with notable companies such as Disney, Cranium, Sprint, Amgen, Wellpoint, PGA Tour, Adidas, and Indiegogo.
With a background in environmental design and a keen understanding of form, Shawn earned his first patent for his work with Jason Carignan and partners on a new water bottle concept called "Vapur." This reusable water bottle stands when full and collapses when empty (vapur.us). Shawn launched the initial brand and product, collaborating with BMW Designworks to develop strategies and concepts for the product's latest iteration.
Currently, Shawn teaches design at Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he continues to inspire and mentor the next generation of designers.
