Scott Johnson graduated from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, with bachelor's and master's degrees in chemistry. In then completed a doctorate degree in organic chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Dr. Johnson worked for many years for Georgia-Pacific Chemicals, LLC, where he served as a research and development manager and director of innovation before joining the faculty in the Department of Chemistry at BYU-Idaho. He currently serves as the department chair since 2023.
