Introduction

Brother Scott Franson received an Associates Degree in Art from Ricks College, a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, California and a Masters of Fine Arts in Graphic Design from Utah State University, Logan, Utah. Before Brother Franson began teaching at Ricks College/BYU-Idaho, he worked as a graphic designer in Hollywood, California for White & Associates, with clients such as RainBird and Mattel. He then moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota to work with the Kuester Group where he worked on projects for Unisys, Honeywell, Formica, Potlatch Paper, Fox River Paper, US West, and St. Jude Medical.

Brother Franson's interests include Graphic Design, Childrens' Book Design & Illustration, Surface Design, and Web Design. His interest in illustration for children resulted in his first picture book "Un-Brella", published by Roaring Brook Press in 2007. He has also designed and licensed surface patterns for bow tie fabric.

Brother Franson currently teaches Art 230: Typography, Art 335: Identity Design, Advanced Typography, Sequential Design, and Art 445: Digital Illustration.
