Rob Eaton graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in international relations and affairs. He then completed a juris doctorate from Stanford Law School.
Brother Eaton worked for several years as an attorney and general counsel for a law firm and insurance company. He also served as a vice president for The Regence Group. IN 2001, he became a seminary teacher in the Church Educational System and also served as a director for an institute of religion. He joined the faculty in the Department of Religious Education at BYU-Idaho in 2009. He currently teaches at BYU as a viiting professor since 2023.
In 2013 Brother Eaton and his wife served as a mission presidents in the Washington Kent Mission until 2016.
