COSTUME CRAFTS SUPERVISOR - Temple Square Visitor's Center renovation, Salt Lake City, Utah, 2001.  Dyed and supervised the weaving of fabrics representing Pre-Columbian American textiles, and ancient Middle-Eastern textiles, and 19/c, American textiles.  Also handcrafted shoes, sandals and other leather accessories for the above periods to be fitted on life size foam latex mannequins.  Also helped style wigs and beards on the mannequins.

Biography

Richard J. Clifford joined the faculty in 2004. An alumnus of Ricks College, he holds an MFA in Theatre Design and Technology from BYU. Previously, he taught full-time at Salt Lake Community College and as an adjunct at BYU in Provo, UT. He also worked as a freelance designer, designing lights, scenery, and costumes for theatre, ballet, opera, and film. He acts professionally in independent and studio film, voice, and TV and for various theatre companies (IMDB profile), and extensively for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints including roles in the Bible Video Series and the Book of Mormon Visual Library projects. 

He served as chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance From 2009-2014, as associate dean for the College of Performing and Visual Arts from 2014-2016, and as dean of the College of Performing and Visual Arts at BYU-Idaho from 2016-2021. He is certified in Vectorworks and teaches courses in computer-aided design, lighting design, and fundamentals of theatrical design.
