Phillip Allred graduated from BYU with a bachelor's degree in political science. He continued his graduate studies at Idaho State University, where he earned a master's degree in political science, followed by a doctorate degree in theology from Notre Dame.
Dr. Allred has taught in the Church Educational System's seminaries and institutes for many years. He also was a faculty member at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near Eastern Studies from 2015 to 2016. He is currently a visiting faculty member in the Department of Religious Education at BYU-Idaho.
