Matt Babcock graduated from Utah State University with a bachelor's degree in English. His graduate studies took him to Binghampton University, where he earned a master's degree in English with a creative writing emphasis. He then completed a doctorate degree in literature and criticism from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Babcock joined the faculty in the Department of English at Ricks College in 1998, and remained with the department since the college transitioned to BYU-Idaho.
