Martin Dietze-Hermosa graduated from BYU-Idaho with a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. His graduate studies took him to the University of Utah, where he earned a master's degree in kinesiology and exercise science. He then completed a doctorate degree in interdisciplinary health science from the University of Texas at El Paso.
Dr. Dietze-Hermosa worked professionally as a personal trainer and strength and conditioning specialist at World's Gym. He first came to BYU-Idaho as an adjunct professor in the Department of Biology in 2015. He then served as a lecturer and assistant instructor at the University of Utah and the University of Texas at El Paso as he completed his graduate studies. In 2021, he joined the faculty in the Department of Human Performance and Recreation at BYU-Idaho.
Dr. Dietze-Hermosa has co-authored over 30 research publications about human performance and strength. He also helps oversee BYU-Idaho's annual summer speed and agility camps
