Mark Bennion graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor's degree in Asian American Literature, and continued his graduate studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He then earned a master's degree in creative writing from the University of Montana.
Brother Bennion Joined the faculty in the Department of English at BYU-Idaho in 2000. Since that time, he has served as an associate dean in the College of Language and Letters from 2008 to 2012, and department chair in the English department from 2017 to 2022.
