Laryssa Waldron graduated from the University of Utah with a bachelor's degree in English language and literature, and a master's degree in education. She has decades of experience teaching students in the Church's seminaries and institutes of religion. She has also served as an adjunct professor of English at Utah Valley University and Salt Lake Community College. Laryssa first came to BYU-Idaho in 2017, helping develop hybrid courses and instructional design. After three years, she returned to teaching, serving as a teacher and principal of the seminary at Madison Junior High School in Rexburg, Idaho. She then returned to BYU-idaho in 2023, joining the faculty in the Department of Religious Education.
