Jim Richards completed a doctorate in literature and creative writing from the University of Houston in 2003. He teaches literature and creative writing in the Department of English at BYU-Idaho.
Professor Richards has authored five works of poetry and a short story. His works are published in Dialogue: A Journal of Mormon Thought, Poetry Northwest, Copper Nickel, Sugar House Review, Prairie Schooner, Hotel Amerika, and Southern Poetry Review. His first poetry collection, Song for My Left Ear, Song for My Right Ear, will be published in 2025.
