Biography

Jennifer Teuscher began her dance training in American Fork, Utah under the direction of Jacqueline P. Colledge with Jacqueline’s School of Ballet. At the age of 7, Jennifer began performing children’s roles with Utah Metropolitan Ballet(UMB). She became a member of UMB’s second company for three years and then later joined the professional company for three years. She was also awarded scholarships to multiple intensive study programs including The Rock School of Ballet and Regional Dance America’s National Choreography Intensive for four consecutive years. Jennifer was a member of Regional Dance America and has traveled and performed in many places throughout the US. During her time at UMB, Jennifer was able to perform in many full-length ballets including “Coppelia”, “Cinderella”, and “The Nutcracker” along with many contemporary ballet pieces. She was featured in many soloist and demi-soloist roles and was also able to tour with UMB to China. Her favorite ballets to perform include George Balanchine’s “Serenade”, Alan Hineline’s “San Souchi”, and Jacqueline Colledge’s “Legend of Timpanogos".

Jennifer has had the unique opportunity to study with many master teachers including David Howard, Darla Hoover, Suki Schorer, Violette Verdy, Francia Russell, and Alan Hineline among others. Jennifer attended Utah Valley University on a dance scholarship and later finished her Bachelor’s Degree in Dance Choreography and Performance at Brigham Young University Idaho.

Jennifer began assisting classes at Jacqueline’s School of Ballet at the age of 15 where she quickly realized her love for teaching and has been teaching ballet ever since. Her students have been offered scholarships to multiple ballet schools including Ballet West Academy, Joffrey Ballet School, Miami City Ballet School, The Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School of American Ballet Theatre, Pacific Northwest Ballet School, Berlin Ballet School and The Princess Grace Academy. Jennifer is currently teaching ballet at Brigham Young University Idaho where she has helped to grow the ballet program, create choreography, and develop new courses. She believes strongly in creating a positive, nurturing and inspiring learning environment for her students and loves seeing students grow into strong, caring and compassionate human beings through the study of dance.
