Daniel Stoker graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in social studies teacher education. He gained an additional degree from Brigham Young University in Arabic, followed by a master's degree in Middle East studies in 2012 from the American University in Cairo.

Daniel taught social studies classes at Othello High School in Washington State for two years and served as a program assistant at BYU helping studies with Arabic studies. While completing his graduate work, he served as a researcher fir the Cairo Review of Global Affairs, research assistant for the Middle East Institute, a team lead for Telsa Government, Inc., and a political analyst for Booz Allen Hamilton. He joined the faculty in the Department of Languages and International Studies and the Department of History, Geography, and Political Science at BYU-Idaho in 2020. He teaches history courses on the Middle East and world history, and language courses on Arabic.
