D.J. Teichert studied communication at Ricks College before graduating from Southern Utah University with a bachelor's degree in interpersonal communications. He advanced his post-graduate studies at Idaho State University where he earned a master's degree in public health services administration. He then finished a doctorate of education from the University of Idaho.
Dr. Teichert came to BYU-Idaho in 2000 as a tutoring center supervisor. In 2009 he accepted the position of Study Skills Center Director and faculty member in the tutoring center.
