Bret Linford is a professor at BYU-Idaho, where he teaches Spanish language and linguistics and coordinates the lower-level Spanish program.
Bret graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in Integrated Studio Art. He pursued his graduate studies at the University of Montana, earning a master's in Spanish Linguistics and Literature in 2009. He completed an additional master's degree at Indiana University Bloomington in Hispanic Linguistics 2011, followed by doctorate in Hispanic Linguistics in 2016.
Dr. Linford served as an instructor of Spanish at Indiana University Bloomington and an assistant and associate professor at Grand Valley State University before accepting a faculty position in the Department of Languages and International Studies at BYU-Idaho in 2023.
