Adam Vorderstrasse graduated from BYU-Idaho in 2007 with a bachelor's degree in history education. He some after completed a master's degree from Grand Canyon University in curriculum and instruction, with an emphasis on technology.

Adam worked for several years as a high school teacher in Stanfield, Oregon, where he taught Spanish, history, American government, and advanced placement government and politics. He then served as an instructional designer at Ivy Tech Community College in Indianapolis, Indiana. This prepared him to accept a curriculum designer position at BYU-Idaho in 2020. Since he has joined BYU-Idaho, Adam has also served as an adjunct professor in the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and as a curriculum designer for the Applied Health bachelor's degree.
