UNIVERSITY BAROQUE ENSEMBLE PRESENTS HANDEL’S MESSIAH IN TWO PERFORMANCES ON NOVEMBER 21
The BYU-Idaho University Baroque Ensemble, Collegiate Singers and Concert Choir perform Handel’s Messiah on
Saturday, November 21 at 2pm and 7:30pm in the Barrus Concert Hall. Tickets are $8 / $5 for students and available through the
BYU-Idaho Ticket Office. Event dress is requested.
Student soloists and professional guest artists on Baroque oboe and natural trumpet join orchestra and choirs to present this
majestic work. Handel’s Messiah is considered a cultural icon which appeals across beliefs as a profound and sacred testament
of Jesus Christ.
Students in the University Baroque Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Robert Tueller, perform on period instruments
patterned after 17th and 18th century examples, with emphasis on appropriate style and how this music may have sounded in its
own time period.
This music performance is presented by the Department of Music at BYU-Idaho.
