BYU-I UNIVERSITY BAROQUE ENSEMBLE PRESENTS ALL VIVALDI CONCERT ON MARCH 12 – WITH GUEST SOLOIST, CARRIE KRAUSE

Please join the BYU-Idaho University Baroque Ensemble on Thursday, March 12 at 7:30pm in the Barrus Concert Hall for the music of Antonio Vivaldi – regarded as one of the greatest Baroque composers. Highly acclaimed Baroque violinist, Carrie Krause, joins the ensemble as guest soloist and director.

Praised for her “elegant, sparkling performance [that] brought audience cheers” by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, Carrie Krause performs with groups across the nation and has been a soloist in New York's Alice Tully Hall, Boston’s Jordan Hall, and the Thomaskirche in Leipzig. Originally from Fairbanks, Alaska, Krause currently serves as concertmaster of the Bozeman Symphony. She holds degrees from Carnegie Mellon under Andres Cardenes, the Cleveland Institute of Music in violin performance and Suzuki Pedagogy, and The Juilliard School in Historical Performance.

Students in the University Baroque Ensemble perform on period instruments patterned after 17th and 18th century examples, with emphasis on appropriate style and how this music may have sounded in its own time period.

Tickets are $8 / $5 for students and available through the BYU-Idaho Ticket Office. Event dress is requested.
