Elder James Gilwell O. Fantone was sustained as a General Authority Seventy in April 2026. At the time of his call, he was serving as a member of the Eighth Quorum of the Seventy in the Philippines Area.
Elder Fantone has served in several Church callings, including full-time missionary in the Philippines Cagayan de Oro Mission, bishop, high councilor, mission president, and Area Seventy.
Elder Fantone earned a bachelor of science degree in management from Rizal Technological University in 1997 and studied guidance counseling at the University of the Philippines. He worked as a sales manager for World Executives Digest from 1996 to 1997 and as a sales and country manager for Morinda International from 1997 to 2000. From 2001 to 2004, he worked as an institute director for Seminaries and Institutes of Religion and from 2004 to 2022, he worked as a country director for the Academy for Creating Enterprise.
James Gilwell Osorio Fantone was born in Manila, Philippines, on February 11, 1972. He married Cynthia Caseres Uy in 1994. They are the parents of four children.
