Fall has arrived, and so has Planet Doom.

Formerly known as Doctor Slaughter’s, Planet Doom in Idaho Falls was voted the #1 haunted attraction in Idaho, according to haunts.com and idahohauntedhouses.com

Admission is $15 and the proceeds go to the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office D.A.R.E program in Bonneville Join School District #93 and outlying communities.

Although there’s a wait once visitors arrive, the Planet Doom dance team performs several choreographed routines to make the wait feel even shorter.

The attraction has a 20 to 35-minute walk-through, with inspiration taken from the Idaho National Laboratory.

Given that we have this nuclear facility in the Arco desert just west of town, our theme is, ‘Hey, there was a nuclear accident in the Arco desert and it opened a portal to the void and in the void all your nightmares come true,’” said Brent Wilson, the general manager of Planet Doom.

Next year, you can look forward to a whole new section of the haunt.

“We have a really cool theme. We’re tearing down our zombie land and we’re changing the theme completely and it’s going to be awesome,” Wilson said.
