The LaBelle Lake Ice Palace is a wintry attraction located in Rigby, Idaho. This unique handmade ice structure ranges from one to two stories tall. Ice Palace builders continue making additions to the structure throughout the winter season, resulting in a different ice palace experience each time you go. The Palace also features acoustic rooms, embedded lighting, and an ice slide.

Due to warmer-than-expected winter temperatures, the ice palace has had to postpone its opening dates from mid to late December. In an interview with BYU-Idaho Radio, LaBelle Lake Ice Palace Director Kira Martin explained that rain and wind negatively impact ice structure formation. The Ice Palace staff begins building on December 14 with December 27 as the projected opening day.

At this year’s Ice Palace, the public can expect a fantastical ice experience complete with live reindeer, horse-drawn sleigh rides, light shows, fire shows, music, winter characters and food vendors. Sweet treats and savory foods will be available for purchase at various locations.

Tickets for the Ice Palace are still for sale online. Prices are $16/adult, $15/student, $10/child, and $13/military with a $7 upcharge for the destination sleigh ride ad-on and a $5 upcharge for the through-the-woods sleigh ride. A 10% discount is applied when you purchase five or more tickets. See the website for more details.
