The Rexburg Area Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual Veterans Day Memorial Ceremony this Friday.
“We need to show appreciation for those that are willing to go over and defend and help,” said Janalyn Holt, the president of the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce. “They don’t get very many days to be honored, so I think we can take a moment out and say thank you.”
Holt says we are entering the holiday season, which is often meant to be a time of fun spent with family. She expressed her gratitude for those who are willing to serve their country, despite not being able to be with their families for the holidays.
The theme of the ceremony is duty, honor and country.
“I love that because it is simply stated,” Holt said, “but it is powerful and bold.”
The memorial ceremony is this Friday, Nov. 11, at 9 a.m. at Madison High School.
