The Turkey Choir has been performing for more than 40 years on Thanksgiving day, and this year they are adding something new.

Anna Bjornn and Jen Kohler are producers for the Turkey Choir and say this year a children choir is added and will be participating in the song, "there Can be Miracles," from the movie, "The Prince of Egypt."

They are hoping that things turn out well enough that they can do another children's choir in the future.

All the songs are chosen from a common theme of thanksgiving and are usually folk songs or other American songs.

"The main theme from all the music is the thanks and gratitude that we have towards our Heavenly Father and the freedoms we enjoy," Bjornn said.

The choir starts practicing in mid-October so that they can get six weeks of practice in.

many people come and participate year after year, some are not even from the area. A few people this year have come from Shelly and Ashton.

The choir is also a good way to bring families together.

"I think that is the one thing about this choir is that you can come with your children and learn and sing together, it is very much family oriented," Kholer said.

The concert is at 10 a.m. Thanksgiving morning at the Rexburg Tabernacle.

"Thanksgiving morning when we are singing these hymns of praise it's overwhelming it's wonderful, its a wonderful experience I wish more people knew about it," Bjornn said.
