This year’s Rexburg July 4th activities will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. There are five main events happening that day, so community members can expect a full day of fun!
The first event is a “main street mile” sponsored by the city of Rexburg. It starts at 9am. The second event, sponsored by the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce, is a flag raising in Smith Park. It begins at 9:30 am. At this event, the Madison Band will be playing, and the grand marshals will be in attendance. Christopher Mann, the CEO of the Rexburg Chamber of Commerce, said this is to celebrate our Country.
“This is a day to celebrate America and the independence that we have, the freedoms that we have, and the sacrifices by so many people to make America what it is today,” said Mann.
The third event is the parade which starts at 10am. It begins at the northeast corner of Smith park. The theme this year is “crowned by good with brotherhood.” Mann said this parade is a great time to talk about “how good America is.”
The fourth event is called “day in the park” and will be going on from 9am to 3pm in Porter Park. Food truck and venues will be set up in the park with a big focus on entertainment. Many of the community drill teams and bands will be performing from the Beehive Pavilion.
The last event will be fireworks at 10 pm. They will be going off in three different locations, just like last year, so that community members can see fireworks across town.
