Rexburg's Cultural Arts Department has put a lot of effort into organizing events for the whole community.
Emily Miller, media manager of Rexburg Cultural Arts, says activities for January include: a viewing of “Back to the Future” on the 21st at 6:30 p.m. at the Romance Theatre, LOL Rexburg (a regular show with comedians) on the 26th, auditions for a Broadway concert, and art and theater classes for kids, teens and adults.
Miller says the department hopes these activities will bridge the gap between the university community and the residential community.
“One of our goals with that programming is to bridge that gap,” she said. “We love doing things that we hope are going to be exciting for the university community and the locals together, so that we can make some friendships there and hopefully provide opportunities that people in the university community will enjoy so that the time they’re here is a time they really enjoy.”
Trying new things can be scary, but Miller assures that participation will be worth it. She encourages the community to come together by trying new things.
“It’s not all about a goal or an outcome, it’s about the process of coming together and learning and enjoying it and I think that’s the biggest goal of all these things, is just quality of life,” Miller said.
