Latter-day Saint singer and songwriter Wayne Burton has released a new Christmas song as part of a Christmas album.

The song is called “Holy Child” Burton says the song is about the tender moment after the saviors birth and asking the child if his importance in the world.

Burton performs the song with Kenneth Cope, another LDS singer. The song is one of many released in Burtons eighth solo album, and his second Christmas album titled “Come Let Us Adore Him.”

“It’s about looking at this child and kind of communicating your questions to the Christ child,” Burton said. “What lies ahead for you? Do you know how immense your mission will be?”

Burton says he the song is one he would usually performing himself, but he has become friends with Cope over the years and asked him to do the lead vocals on the song with Burton doing harmony.

The album features many original songs, but also well knows Christmas favorites and has a few collaborations with BYU’s Vocal Point and Madilyn Page.

“I like to involve other artists,” Burton said. “Its just fun to collaborate.”

Burton says he has always been writing and performing music. The recording part of music came a couple years after his mission.

Even today most of the music he performs he has written himself. But he still enjoys covering different artists.

Coming up Burton has several concerts including tonight in Provo, one in Las Vegas on Saturday and one on Sunday on the Oakland California temple grounds.
