Starting June 21 through August 9, performers will take the stage at the Music on Main outdoor summer concert series in Victor, Idaho.
Music on Main has been an annual event for the last 12 years. The event began in Driggs, Idaho and was eventually moved to Victor, Idaho to create more space.
Lauren Bennett, Executive Director of the Teton Valley Foundation, said the event began by having a community that was passionate about arts and music.
“From my understanding, it came about with just passionate people who love music,” Bennett said. “It was started by a group of people 12 years ago who wanted to have more music in the valley and a way for people to enjoy it for free.”
The lineup for this year performances are: John Fullbright, Orgone, Kitchen Dwellers, Within (Formerly Todo Mundo), Amy Helm, Marchfourth, Hot Club of Cowtown, and Jamie McLean Band.
Bennett said what they are striving for when making the lineup is to expose people to different music that they may not have heard before and enjoy it.
“It just really shows how a free event series like this can expose you to types of music that you might not have seen if you had to go pay for it,” Bennett said.
She said for people who have never been to this event, she hopes that they are able to see how great the community of Teton Valley is.
“You really get to feel why everyone wants to make their home here in the Tetons, or why they want to visit here,” Bennett said. “It’s not about the mountains it’s about being together and just enjoying everything great that we have. That’s why you come, it’s to feel that excitement of everyone coming together for the common goal of just enjoying where we live.”
