Madison High School is hosting a kite flying event tomorrow with Madison Cares and Optum Healthcare at Bobcat Stadium.
The event will feature more than just flying kites. There will also be opportunities to decorate kites, paint rocks and draw with chalk. there will even be free hot dogs and chips for those in attendance.
"I think that it's important to come together as a community and talk about mental health. To show people who are struggling with mental health issues that they have support and to reach out and get help because it's more common than any of us would like to think. It's one in five (people)," said Jessica Goudy, the director of communications for Madison County School District #321.
The Madison Cares Mental Health Department will also share a family-friendly message about mental health and take time to answer questions.
So grab a kite and support your community tomorrow from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
