Saturday, June 27, there will be an open house at Labelle Lake in Rigby.
Normally, the lake is only available to rent out for special events like weddings, family reunions and other activities. But, on Saturday, the lake will be open to the public in the form of an open house.
During this event, there will be activities like paddle boating and canoeing, tomahawk throwing, lodge tours and animal feeding. Kira Martin, the director of Labelle Lake, said there will also be free lemonade for those in attendance.
“It’s a super fun event, and it’s pretty much for everybody…even if you’re just looking for something for your kids to do on a Saturday,” Martin said.
Martin said the event is semi-annual, and they are happy they can still hold the event, despite all that’s happened with COVID-19.
“We lost a lot of weddings [during the pandemic],” Martin said. “[We’ve been] doing what we can.”
Martin said people who attend the open house would not be required to wear a mask since the event has people more spread out and outside.
The event will go from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
