Idaho Public Television is sponsoring a contest for Idaho teens to create a video up to 90 seconds long about the dangers of teen vaping.
The object of the Know Vape contest is to create and submit a video that covers either the dangers of vaping, vaping prevention or how to quit.
You must be 13 to 18 years old to enter. The grand prize is $2,000. Other prize money is also available. The submission deadline is April 1, 2023, and the winners will be announced on May 1.
Heather Hansen, a health education specialist with Eastern Public Health, said they would like to get some information out about the dangers of vaping.
“Little pods can contain as much [nicotine] as a box of cigarettes,” she said. “That’s 20 cigarettes in a little, tiny pod.”
Hansen said parents can do a lot to help prevent their kids from vaping and there are resources available to help teens who are already vaping. For more information about the contest and about vaping, visit the Know Vape website.
